Here we are again. Don’t know about you, but I hold even the players that we were linked with but never signed in a sort of reverent awe which is probably unreasonable. Yves Bissouma will be brilliant for Brighton at some point. Meanwhile, here’s your list of players linked with the Hornets since the summer, a list that will be kept up to date until the end of January so bookmark if you Like This Sort Of Thing. A very low bar of credibility is employed, but a mere “I think Watford should sign…” falls below it.

[…] Last season was by far the quietest with no outgoings and only the key loan signing of Gerard Deulofeu troubling the Sky Sports tickertape. The evidence of the last three seasons suggests that Watford only use the January window for tinkering with the squad, bringing in back up players or try-before-you-buy loans for potential first teamers. The Hornets haven’t been forced into selling any players they didn’t want to, preferring to move on players that had naturally come to the end of their time at Vicarage Road (a trend that looks like continuing with the suggestion that Stefano Okaka and Marvin Zeegelaar are likely to leave in the next few days). Despite the general lack of incoming activity, this won’t stop approximately 50 odd players being linked to Watford – something that is manfully logged here on the Bhappy blog. […]
